Raymond Paquin, from manager to writer

Paquin - Famous Paquin
The death of Dédé Fortin, leading singer in the popular french singing group the “Colocs”, brought him to write on the subject in order to clarify certain aspects of the life of Dédé Fortin.

Raymond has written three novels so far, one of which is being released this week. He is also the founder of an organization responsible for collecting royalties for writers.

Mrs. Rollande Paquin passed away

News - Last News

Mrs. Rollande Paquin passed away (21 janvier 2010) Rollande et Jean-Paul

Dear Cousin,

Your departure reminds us of all the work you have done as president of the Paquin reunion in 1978 at Shawinigan.

Well supported by your late husband, Paul Dessureault, as well as Serge and Danielle, your children, you had taken the lead to inform all of the Mauricie area of the event using the newspaper “Le Nouvelliste, radio stations and television.

It was at this gathering that Brother Pasteur, president and founder of the Famille Paquin Family Association gave up his role to Charles-Henri Paquin, his nephew, to start initiating the process of incorporating the Association.

You organized your region in your own way, which lead other regions to also get organized; Reginald P. looked after the American section, Hélène P. covered Western Canada, Gérard P. looked after the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region supported by Mrs Paquin Charette of Guigues where more than 300 guests were gathered to welcome a group of Paquin visiting the North.

For a period of 20 years meetings were held under the leadership of several Paquin in Canada as well as in the U.S.A. Château-Richer, Winnipeg (St-Boniface), Manchester U.S.A., Ancienne-Lorette, Deschambault, Trois-Rivières and Cap–de-la-Madeleine were all gathering places for the Paquin. It’s at Cap-de-la-Madeleine that the Association decided to make a major change and move on to the web by using Jean-Marie P. and his associates.

We would like to pay a tribute to you Rollande and all the other leaders that have devoted their time and efforts to have Paquin family reunions.

Charles-Henri Paquin

The Paquin in France (1985)

Places - France

All the pictures were taken by my brother Gérard Paquin in 1985 at La Poterie on the Pentecost (7 weeks after Easter). He had been working on genealogy for numerous years. He is the one you were mentioning in your introduction. At the ceremony, my older sister, Jacqueline Moreau, was also present. We had not been able to assist due to my son being hospitalized…but, we did go see the souvenir plaque a few weeks later.

Thank you

News - Last News

Québec, September 7, 2009

Dear Cousins,

We are again linked to internet and our first communication is to thank those invited by Jean-Marie, Gaby and Émilie who allowed us to put aside our moving boxes and participate to the dinner at the Littoral on the Portneuf dock.

Since nothing had been placed at our new quarters, it was easy to find a special spot for the rose painting fresh from the artist’s hands Jean-Paul Paquin. We were deeply touched by this delicate attention. Thanks to all.

Notwithstanding our limitations due to age and some weaknesses caused by the years that have gone by, we are now starting a new life.

A special thank you to Jean-Marie who has now taken the lead to give the organization a new breath to ensure the Paquin get together again in the future.

Charles-Henri Paquin
