Paul was born on December 19, 1906, and it was with regret that he ended his elementary school studies on the day of his solemn communion to help his father, who was a farmer. He was then 11 and a half years old. He continued his studies at the age of 20 when he had free evenings, which helped him to correspond with the girls and in his social activities. In 1929, he spent 3 months in the woods making the life of loggers and getting acquainted with the marvel of time «the godendart».
He began his social activities by joining the parish choir in Gregorian chant classes. We can congratulate him for always staying in the choir.
In 1936, supported by friends, he organized the national youth movement. At the first meeting, 38 members joined, each contributing 10 cents.
In October 1938, he became the owner of the ancestral land. On November 5, 1938, he married Marie-Rose Baril of St-Alban. From this union were born 5 children. In February 1939, he becomes the director of the union for butter. In May of that year, he was elected a municipal councillor.
He had the following responsibilities in the following order: Director of the Société St-Jean-Baptiste. He became the founder of the Caisse Populaire with the help of two friends and is still a member of the supervisory committee. He was also a school commissioner and churchwarden of the parish. Member of the U.C.C., ex. Union of Catholic Farmers of which he was President and Director. He was also a director of the regional cooperative for 2 years.
